heh.. yeah aparently the ring tone is 60Vish!
Okay... we didn't get them and didn't need them.
I reckon though it would be cool to use some within a game... I like the idea of having the wire being laid as one of the objectives...
I've done some investigation and found some circuits that allow normal telephones to be used. Its surprisingly simple!
I'll do dome investigation and we may end up with some for our own use... I can even make 'em more WW2 like... 
A quick request though... do any of you have an old style telephone lying around that you don't need?
